Governing council

Our school is governed by a governing council who works with our Principal to help set and monitor our school’s vision and direction.

The council meets on Tuesdays at 7pm in week 3 and 7 of each term.  Once a term our councilors have a dinner meeting at our local towns that our student live, Corny Point , Marion Bay , Pt Turton and Warooka.

  • Chairperson: Andrew Bennett
  • Vice Chairperson: Tyronn Tilbrook
  • Secretary: Nicole Redman
  • Treasurer: Jasmine Swales-Smith
  • Grounds: Jayden Rice
  • Parents and Friends Rep: Mel Webb
  • Members: Mel Webb

Responsibilities

The governing council is responsible for:

  • developing and approving local policies
  • approving and reviewing our budget
  • monitoring and reviewing the site improvement plan
  • reviewing employment contracts
  • consulting with the school community to make sure their views are represented.

Sub-committees

The following committees report to the governing council:

  • Finance Advisory Committee
  • Parents and Friends Committee

At our most recent meeting on Tuesday 23 May, we discussed the school’s playground and its upgrade. The lifespan of a playground is usually 20-25 years and our playground is 25 years old so an upgrade is required to improve safety. As part of this, the Governing Council has decided to create a Playground Working Committee which will look into planning, designs and funding opportunities. We welcome any parents or family members who would be interested in joining this committee to please contact the school.
